wecameasromans-21We Came as Romans

Unreal Promotions presents We Came as Romans, Blindwitness, Structures, Counterparts, and As You Like Me. This show took place on Sunday January 17th/2010 at The Groove Lounge in Oshawa. If anyone is helping rebuild the Durham Scene, it’s most certainly Cam and Zack of Up Promotions. The show originally was supposed to have Michael Froh (Better known as the past vocalist of The Holly Springs Disaster) co-headlining alongside WCAR, however due to personal reasons he had to drop. Despite this inconvenience, as a complete shocker, the boys were able to nab Quebec’s metal sensation Blindwitness, who captivated the audience with their insane playing, and synchronized headbangs. The largest turnout I’ve seen for a Durham show in forever, these guys are doing something right. Be sure to look out for future shows by UP, because you know they’ll be a blast.

For those of you who do not know Counterparts, they were recently signed to Shane Told’s (Silverstein) label, Verona. Coming from Hamilton, Ontario these guys are someone you should look at. I was able to have a quick chat with the vocalist Bredan Murphy to get a headsup of what is to expect, and that will be posted tomorrow morning! Go check them out at http://www.myspace.com/counterparts

Structures are also storming through with their newest EP, All of the Above to be released soon! Go check out http://www.myspace.com/wearestructures to get a little sneak of what’s to come!

Overall, it was a great night, and I’m excited for what is to come in 2010.
