City Escape

“City Escape” are an Australian Progressive Alt. Rock band with Ambient/Hardcore influence, not un-similar to bands such as “Closure In Moscow”, “The Higher”, and “Dream On, Dreamer”. The band formed in Summer 2007, quickly hopped on stages all across Australia, and followed it with a demo in early 2008. It was then when they signed to Taperjean Records and together with Shock Records, they released their debut EP “Avalanches”.

Their music to be a great blend of radio friendly (and addictive) melodies, Progressive guitar work, epic sounding ambiance for size, and that extra edge of Hardcore intensity with some screams at the right moments, which is the perfect combination for a musical fire that will burn up every one’s iPods, with some moderate radio play, that doesn’t compromise on originality and musicality. Another thing is their great use of keyboards in their music, even though they don’t have a keyboardist, which makes up for a good portion of their ambient sound. This music does what music, in my opinion, is meant to do, take us on a journey. It has a range of emotions and styles, from down tempo ambiance, to high energy Hardcore inspired screams and strays away from sticking to one sound/emotion for too long.

This band to be perfect for fans of “Closure In Moscow”, “I Am Abomination”, “Dream On, Dreamer” and “The Dream, The Chase”.
