20 year old Zachary Garren played guitars for Dance Gavin Dance since 2007, and has been kicked out of the band by Wil Swan (guitarist/screamer), who started the band back in 2005 with Matt Mingus (drummer). Dance Gavin Dance was just on tour with Scary Kids Scaring Kids and is to hit the road after their 2 week break with The Almost and All Time Low in Australia/ Europe. Their new CD Happiness hits stores June 9th, and they are to continue on the road, but only being a 4-man band.

Below are posts from Zachary’s tweets about his departure with Dance Gavin Dance and Also tweets from Jonny Craig to Zachary Garren twitter.

  1. @fallbekind he started the band so he ultimately has the final say, it’s alright, i’ll be fine :) about 22 hours ago from web in reply to fallbekind

Who is “Isles & Glaciers” ?
Last Updated on Thursday, 11 February 2010 05:27

“so heres the deal…. a while back, a man came to all of us, and he had a dream. a dream of getting all of his best friends into a room together, then have someone press record, and see what would happen. i dont know if any of us really believe that it would happen, until we checked our email and saw flight reservations waiting.”

So who are they you ask? Lets just say people call them a “supergroup”. No, they all don’t have super powers, but all the members of the band have all been in different bands, we all have heard of before. Isles & Glaciers consists of members from Emarosa, Cinematic Sunrise, The Receiving End of Sirens, Pierce the Veil, Underminded, and former members of Chiodos, The Sound of Animals Fighting, Dance Gavin Dance, Boys Night Out, and Fordirelifesake. I listened to their first recorded song “Hills Like White Elephants” back in May 2009, but only thought of it as being a side project, and nothing would really come from it. It wasn’t until later on that year where I started doubting the thought of Isles & Glaciers just being a “fun” band, but becoming more of a legit band.

Isles & Glaciers first seemed to be really something that exists after Craig Owens (formerly of Chiodos at the time), and Jonny Craig (formerly of Dance Gavin Dance) performed a show in Lexington, Kentucky on August 30, 2008. A couple months later, Craig Owens confirmed these rumors through his personal website on September 4, 2008, saying, “I was just talking to my brother and friend Jonny Craig. Him and I plan on hitting the studio in early December together to rock out a fun EP for everyone, also including our friends Vic Fuentes, and Nick Martin + more ?.”
Billboard.com stated that a member of Circa survive would be involved in this, and right away people thought Anthony Green. The official band members were finally posted on December 15 by Alternative Press, and Anthony Green was not one of them nor anyone from Circa Survive, but,  Craig Owens  (vocals), Jonny Craig (vocals), Vic Fuentes(vocals/guitar), Nick Martin (guitar), Matt Goddard (bass), Brian Southall (guitar/ programming) and Mike Fuentes (drums).

It was announced yesterday (Feb.10.2010) that their debut EP “The Hearts Of Lonely People” will be avalible digitally and exclusivly through Hot Topic on March 9th, 2010.

I suggest giving them a listen if you are or were a fan of the members old/current bands. From the one song they have posted on their myspace “Hills As White As Elephants”, they are a mix of  Dance Gavin Dance’s Downtown Battle Mountain and Chiodos’ Bone Palace Ballet. The vocals in my opinion, are amazing, and asking for a better duo would just be greedy.

Will this take a lead further then any of all the members old/current bands or will this die in a couple of months?
Give us your opinion!

Band: Elos Arma
Date: January 29 2010
Venue: Opera House
Show: The Ultimate Indie Showcase by Mark Spicoluk

Catchy, and singable, are the only words I can use to describe this new indie band from Ontario. Elos Arma is a 4 man band, with  members of  now no longer existing local Kleinburg band, Caldwell.
Elos Arma is currently in the studio working on an album while still playing a few shows in Toronto and the GTA. But until then, I suggest you listen to their songs on the bands myspace, and maybe head over to a show and sing along with them!

Blink 182: New Album, when?!

One of the most anticipated albums of 2010, is now one of the most anticipated albums of who knows?. After their reunion in 2009, Blink 182 hasn’t made an album since their self-titled CD in 2003. Plans were for drummer Travis Barker to wrap up with his solo stuff at the beginning of the new year, and then Blink 182 was to write and record their new album for the first part of 2010. Though those were the plans, they seem rather sketchy at this point. The new CD has no set date to be released, but it had been said that it might not come out until 2011. So what can we expect from this new album? Guitarist Tom DeLonge stated that “no one really knows what to expect from the next Blink record, [but] I don’t think anyway thinks it’s going to be a straightforward rock record… [it's] probably the most ambitious songwriting and art that we’ve ever made”. Blink 182  has also, yet to unveil their newest song “Up All Night” to the internet, which they apparently teased audience members during their 2009 summer reunion tour about playing it live. The only thing we have to admire until we get word of  when this album is to hit stores worldwide is this teaser to their upcoming Blinkumentary.. and who knows when the real thing is coming out!
